Newly elected Members of Parliament will be sworn in from from 17th to 18th June 2019 at the New Parliament Building in Lilongwe, according to a statement by Clerk of Parliament, Fiona Kalemba.

The statement reveals that there will be an orientation workshop for the Members-Elect, which will happen at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) from Monday 10th June to Friday, 17th June, 2019. The statement reads, “The workshop is aimed at providing the newly elected Members of Parliament with general information on government operations and contemporary issues which are relevant to their work.”

188 members of parliament made it into the August house, as some are new comers, some returnees and some have retained their seats.
