“For those of you, who are not familiar with language of car properties, imagine being driven by 400 horses and being pushed 569 times your ability” says Yamikani Mbawala, the Branch Manager of Nissan Lilongwe. He continues, “A hungry person would rather have a burger than a biscuit; so the Y62 will make the vehicle you’re currently driving, look like a biscuit.”
Hosting the launch and talking further about Nissan Patrol Y62, Mbawala draws the attention of potential customers present at the launch. However, the great speed that the car possesses may not be the only thing that the customers are looking for. Minutes before the launch, while everyone was socializing, BizMalawi took time to find out what the various potential customers are looking for in the newly released Y62. “I’m wondering if this car is suitable for our roads” says one of the customers that came, “Especially now that most of our Malawian roads are still under construction or are being expanded.” Another says, “As a parent i need to know if this is a family vehicle”
Much later, as Mbawala presented the properties of the car, the customers established that the vehicle has what they need and more; the 9 seater vehicle is built to withstand cliffs, deserts and even snow! Nissan Malawi’s Managing Director, Greggory Hubbard, spoke about the tech installed in the Y62. “The Nissan Intelligent Mobility system (NIMS) is a feature in the vehicle that will monitor your driving, ensuring maximum safety”. Further light was shed by Mbawala, who boasted of the machine’s ability to check its own tire pressure and warn the driver if the pressure is too high or too low. “The system will alert you when another vehicle is approaching your blindside. Adding to that, you will also be alerted when you’re driving into the wrong lane”
It was noted that the vehicle not only had such spectacular tech, but also an amazing entertainment system, built with a 2GB internal memory that will copy CDs as you play, not to mention the USB ports, screens and 3 zone climate conditioning. All these features plus a fuel optimization system that lets you control fuel consumption; the attendees of the launch had their hearts stolen by this masterpiece.
The Nissan Patrol series have been in production since 1951 and have been sold all around the world. An attendee at the launch, observes the Y62 and comments, “I’ve been seeing these since the 90s; this model is truly exceptional”
