The Pakistan Welfare Association (PWA) reached out to families affected by the recent floods in Zomba and Phalombe districts. Donating relief items worth K22 million, PWA provided for 800 displaced families.
Food, utensils, blankets, cash and clothes were donated to flood victims in Zomba and Phalombe.
PWA Chairperson Ali Akbar Kamdar attributed the generous donation to being there for fellow brothers and sisters. “Malawi is our first home, so it our duty to look after our fellow brothers and sisters in their time of need”
The donation was made available by PWA members both in Malawi and outside the country. Kamdar also commented that after a PWA survey, Zomba and Phalombe are some of the neglected areas that have flood victims, and he expressed plans to go in further areas where organizations have not yet visited.
