Due to maintenance works, Nacala Logistics has announced that it has suspended passenger train services between Limbe in Blantyre and Balaka District for nine days.
“The change in the passenger train has been necessitated to allow our maintenance team to work on Shire North Bridge in Balaka on the said days,” the statement reads, as it clarifies that passenger trains will not operate between Monday, January 18, and Tuesday, January 26, though trips between Balaka and Nayuchi in Machinga District will remain uninterrupted.
The passenger train will depart Balaka for Nayuchi and back today. On January 28, the passenger train will depart Balaka for Limbe, marking the resumption of services after maintenance.
