Project Concern International (PCI) handed over nutrition and hygiene kits to 494 victims of Cyclone Idai victims in Zomba and Machinga districts.
PCI Governance and Local Capacity Strengthening specialist Kenneth Somanje says Malawi can achieve socio-economic development if people that are displaced by floods are given nutritious food. The donated items were valued at K8.8 million and the items were jerry cans, bathing and laundry soap, Likuni Phala, torches, buckets, sanitary pads, water guard, lotion, family clean up bucket kit, among many others.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Hadifa Yahaya commended the NGO for the support, as well as disaster management representative for Machinga District Council Chris Kamudzanjira who thanked PCI for donation.
