Petroleum Importers Limited (PIL), recently underwent a series of its safety awareness trainings for automobile drivers, saying it has helped minimise accidents. The trainings have been conducted in collaboration with the International Haulage Brokers (IHB), aimed at equipping fuel truck drivers with safety and defensive driving skills.
PIL Operations Manager, Edmond Pingani, said the company takes safety as an integral component of its operations.
“As PIL, we take safety very seriously and is our number one priority when it comes to fuel importation and transportation and we believe our drivers should also be treated as a priority when it comes to their safety and that of the goods they transport,” Pingani said.
Pingani said the safety training was part of PIL’s preventative measures to ensure there is reduction of accidents on the roads. IHB General Manager, Chrispin Mussa, also hailed the training, stating that drivers would be equipped with knowledge on how they can avoid accidents on the roads.
