A notice by Phoenix International Primary School in Blantyre has announced that the school will close from 18-29 January, amid the rising cases of coronavirus in the country.
“The school has been impacted quite significantly by the rising cases of Covid-19 within our families or from children being exposed to the virus from family contacts.” said Donbell Mandala, the Chairman of the Phoenix Board of Trustees.
The notice has revealed that the school will be open on 1 February. As of 1:05pm today, Malawi registered 9,400 cases, 5854 recoveries and 254 deaths.
