The Central and East African Railway (Cear) has re-engaged the communities in Liwonde, sensitising them on safety measures for train/rail way users.
The initiative follows after two women were almost in an accident, as Cear spokesperson, Chisomo Mwamadi called on the community to use the flyover and not the railway. The firm has also constructed a fence to demarcate territories to protect pedestrians from moving trains.
Present at the meetings were chiefs and their subordinates, as the chiefs vowed to alert their respective communities about the safety measures.
