Reserve Bank of Malawi has launched an app called Malawi Kwacha. The app is purposed to informing a user about what an original Malawi Kwacha banknote looks like.

The initiative follows 2018 records of counterfeit notes which were amounting to more than 1600, which was posing a great threat to various businesses across the nation.

As most Malawians are in possession of a smart phone, the initiative will perform wonders in curbing the production and distribution of fake Malawi Kwacha notes.
