Not long ago, President of Malawi, His Excellency Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika announced that following the coronavirus pandemic, Malawi is now a Nation of Disaster, therefore calling on citizens of good will to provide and donate medical supplies that will prevent the spread of germs or Infection of the Coronavirus. In swift response, Redbrick Limited company announced that it has committed to awareness and donation campaigns countrywide.
Among the first beneficiaries of the donations are patients and guardians at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH), who received water buckets and hand sanitizers worth K1.5 million, which were handed over by the company’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Mr Jamie Da Silva.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the patients, was QECH Administrative officer who was grateful for the donation. On the other hand, Da Silva attributed the donation to QECH as recognition for the hospital’s works. “We deem Q.E.C.H as the most important healthcare institution in Blantyre and it treats a large population of patients,these materials would be a great help to fight the covid –19 virus.” he said.
According to Da Silva, the donation is part of the many current projects that Redbrick Limited Company has, under its Corporate and Social Responsibility campaign drive. “We set aside K1,500,000 for this donation. We expect to do more donations to several district hospitals in the upcoming weeks with prevention materials and sensitization messages to help prevent the covid –19.” Da Silva revealed.
