6 senior officers of the Malawi Police Service (MPS) are behind bars for over K900 million has been reportedly defrauded for the past five years.
The currently available details of the information state that the officers defrauded their service by creating a parallel administration account for the private jobs that officers engage in with organisations such as Malawi Revenue Authority and banks.
Speaking to The Daily Times, the National Police headquarters Deputy Public Relations Officer Peter Kalaya confirmed the arrests but could not speak further, as investigations are still ongoing.
