Shayona Cement Corporation Limited donated projects and goods worth K18 million. The donations have been made to Kasungu Anglican Clinic and Kasungu Police Station.
Kasungu Anglican Clinic received medical drugs as the police station received computers. Besides the two institutions,council offices received 400 bags of cement for fence construction and four villages in the district got one drilled borehole each.
Shayona Cement’s director Jitendra Patel said the donations were made in understanding of the communities needs. He added that Shayona Cement gives back to the community at all times, whether business is good or not. “This year we have pledged K20 million for corporate social responsibility” said Patel.
Kasungu district commissioner James Kanyangaladzi commended Shayona Cement for the donations, noting that other companies operating in the districts are not giving back to any communities.
