A notice by the Honorary Secretary dated 7th April 2020, has announced to the community of Shree Hindu Seva Mandal that the Temple and Hall in Blantyre will remain closed until further notice.
The temporal closure is due to the recently confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Blantyre. The notice reads, “The Committee of Shree Hindu Seva Mandal would like to inform the community that with immediate effect, the Temple and Hall in Blantyre will remain closed until further notice.
As of 13:50pm today, Malawi has registered 2364 confirmed cases, 557 recoveries and 33 deaths. Last week, a statement by the secretary of government mandated the use of face masks in all of its institutions. The secretary has signed that unless clients wear a face mask, they will not be served. “Please take note that clients must ensure that the face mask covers the nose and mouth completely and it should not be lowered when speaking, coughing or sneezing” says part of the statement.
