The Committee of Shree Hindu Seva Mandal has announced the temporal closure of the Temple, following the rapid rises of cases in the country, specifically in Blantyre.
Part of the circular signed by the Temple’s Honarary Secretary reads; “ The Temple will only be open for the early morning and evening Aarti/Thaal. At all other times, the Temple and Hall will remain closed.”
Malawi is currently experiencing a second wave of the pandemic, as new cases are being registered rapidly around the country. Yesterday, during a press briefing, the Co-Chairperson of the Covid-19 taskforce Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda outlined that the number of active cases had grown exponentially in recent weeks, from around 30 on December 11 to about 800 by yesterday.
