As Smile Life Insurance closed 2019 with an end of year cocktail, it was revealed that the firm saw a 23% profit. The Chief Executive Officer of Smile Life Insurance outlined that by November this year, the firm has already surpassed last year’s profit. “We project that by the end of this month [December] we will hit over 28%” he said.
Overall the firm’s management described 2019 as a mixed-bag, while highlighting that one of the milestones achieved in the year, was having Alliance Holdings investing in the company’s business.
Launched in April 2009, Smile Life is the first wholly Malawian-owned life insurance company licensed by the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM), offering life insurance such as Group Life Insurance Cover, Group Funeral Insurance Cover for employees, Group Credit Insurance Covers, Individual and Family Funeral Insurance Covers.
