Solar House Systems (SHS) Companies have been granted a sum of $1.5m (K1.1bn) to Solar Home System Kick-Starter Program, a development that will see the country’s energy expand through solar.
In a recently released statement, the United States Mission director Littleton Tazewell said that the program will allow 100 000 to 150 000 households with access to power, bringing in up to $22.5 million of foreign direct investment into Malawi.
The initiative has been funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USaid) in partnership with the United States-led Power Africa initiative.
