College of medicine’s sports complex is hosting 4 boxing matches on Friday 30th November 2018. The event, dubbed ‘Knockout Cancer’ will host a title match between Dickson Saidi and Limbani Masamba, the latter defending his welterweight championship belt.
Sales and Marketing Manager for the sports complex, Jimmy Kulemeka, welcomed the development as sign of diversity of the complex. “We want to have various sports at the complex; so having boxing happen at the complex is a milestone.” he said, also noting that it was remarkable to have the matches happen in Blantyre, since boxing mostly happens in Lilongwe.
Other boxing matches include a female boxers match; Zione ‘Black Cougar’ Magulula and Duduzile ‘Dynamite’ Kankwamba. Limbani ‘Warrior’ Powder and Chikondi ‘Boltcutter’ Makawa will face-off in an eight-round super welterweight main supporting bout. People will also watch a match between Limbani ‘Warrior’ Powder and Chikondi ‘Boltcutter’ Makawa.
