Following a case of coronavirus at St. Andrews, the school has resolved to close for 2 weeks, as students will undergo online lessons during the time that the school premises are closed.
“In line with our procedures and protocols, the bubble (class) has been asked to quarantine for 14 days” says a circular by the school.
Malawi is currently experiencing a second wave of the pandemic, as new cases are being registered rapidly around the country. On Monday, during a press briefing, the Co-Chairperson of the Covid-19 taskforce Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda outlined that the number of active cases had grown exponentially in recent weeks, from around 30 on December 11 to about 800 by Monday this week.
