Standard Bank donated laboratory and emergency items worth K3 million to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) Cancer unit.
Standard Bank’s Head of Operations, Dan Mbozi, said the donation was in commemoration of this year’s Word Cancer Day. “By contributing towards the health of citizens, the bank is building up the human capacity needed to develop Malawi. We promise to continue joining hands with stakeholders to achieve an efficient health system that will raise adequate awareness around cancer and deploy means of treating it,” Mbozi said.
KCH Director, Jonathan Ngoma said that the donation is timely as the hospital lacks various equipment as well as staff. “We usually have the commodities and supplies but they are not enough. This donation from Standard Bank will go a long way in alleviating some of the problems we have,” he said.
