Standard Bank Malawi has donated K112 million towards fighting Covid-19.
A statement by the bank confirmed that the funds are specifically for medical supplies that are running low at Zomba, Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.
Standard Bank recently appointed CEO Philip Madinga, attributed the donation to the bank’s continued commitment towards the fight, as the bank donated K102 million last year. “As a bank, we remain steadfast in standing with the rest of the nation to alleviate the suffering of those who fall sick and help protect frontline health workers and the general public from exposure to this highly contagious and virulent new variant of Covid-19” said the CEO.
On the other hand, Standard Bank has donated K8 million towards the Covid-19 Private Citizens initiative, which has seen Malawians amassing more than K30 million for the fight against the pandemic.
