In the second week of June on the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE), Standard Bank grew its share price by K74, translating to MK573.00.
Figures show that MASI gained 373.48 points and closed at 29 669.56 points, which resulted to a 1.51% increase in the DSI. A weekly stock market report by Alliance stockbrokers reads, “ Nevertheless, the FSI dropped 0.03% from 4 521.93 points due to a 0.52% drop in OMU share price closing at MK2 500.00. However, the slight drop in the FSI was offset by the gain in the DSI which caused the MASI to gain 1.27%.”
Thus the second week of June ended with a slight drop in the FSI, offset by the gain in the DSI which resulted in the MASI gain of 1.27%. The market traded a total of 3 539 186 shares with a total turnover of K108 million.
