Standard Bank Malawi is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, remembering Limbe Branch as its first branch, opened on 11th April 1969.
In a printed leaflet statement signed by Standard Bank CEO William Le Roux, the first and oldest bank in Malawi has thanked its customers from all walks; from Tea planters, shop merchants, small scale businesspersons, residents and the white settler community.
The statement reads, “On the special occasion of our Golden Jubilee, we would like to thank our customers and key stakeholders for being part of our remarkable story. In turn, we recommit a whole new bright future to them as we continue to move forward with the country’s hopes and dreams.”
Standard Bank Malawi’s website describes the company as a bank that is rooted in Africa but reaching out to all corners of the world.
