Considering the demonstrations happening tomorrow (6th August 2019), Standard Bank has announce that it will not open its branches in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.
According to a notice by the bank, the development is for the sake of safety of the customers and staff members of the bank. “Customers are therefore encouraged to use any of our digital products to access financial services including: 247 App, 247 Mobile, 247 ATMs and CDMs.” says the notice, as Enterprise Online will also be available.
The one-day closure has come, 2 weeks after the bank announced of a partnership with TNM Mpamba, a development that saw the two parties integrate. The timely initiative will also be useful to customers, especially during the demonstrations environment which has seen many companies close shop, fearing vandalism and/or theft.
