Sunbird Board Chairperson Philip Madinga, addressed stakeholders at the hotel’s annual general meeting (AGM), stating that the company remains positive about the future, despite a growing competition on the market. “Sunbird Tourism still enjoys market leadership in the hospitality industry,” said Madinga.
He outlined that Sunbird will keep leading amidst a competitive environment, as it has implemented product improvements such as the refurbishment of rooms, as well as intensifying marketing. Madinga assured the stakeholders that the performance trajectory of Sunbird would be maintained in 2019.
“Sunbird will continue to offer unrivaled guest experience through the delivery of high-quality products and services in order to retain and grow its client base both in the domestic as well as international markets” he said. During the AGM, shareholders approved a final dividend of K131 million or 50 tambala per share bringing the total dividend for 2018 to K262 million or K1 per share.
