Emzisini Health Centre in Mzimba was operating under difficulties, notably the use of candles during deliveries at night.
Bringing a solution to the problem, TNM Mpamba istalled a solar power system at the health centre and donated medical equipment to improve the health service delivery. Speaking on the development, Mpamba’s Trust Fund member Reverend Zacc Kawalala expressed TNM’s concern for problems faced by maternal health. He said that power supply challenges in public health facilities hinder effective service delivery by medical personnel during odd hours.
The donation worth K13m is expected to improve the services at the health centre, as more than 100,000 residents depend on the health centre.
