The Society of Medical Doctors (SMD) received medical items worth K100 million, courtesy of TNM as the company’s Chief Channels Officer Phyllis Manguluti described the donation as the company’s commitment to supporting efforts employed in dealing with the pandemic.
The medical supplies donated were surgical gloves, goggles, patient monitors and drugs, as SMD President Victor Mithi outlined that the supplies were much needed. “We must thank the company for the kind gesture and others should follow suit for us to win this battle,” said Mithi.
As of last night, registered 592 new COVID-19 cases, 81 new recoveries and 10 new deaths. This results in 19,987 cases including 518 deaths (Case Fatality Rate is at 2.6%). On the other hand, Nine hundred and fifteen healthcare workers have been infected by the virus, of which eight have died.
