After reports of people collecting money from tobacco farmers in the name of processing their contracts, Alliance One Tobacco, a tobacco buying firm, issued a warning against the crime.

The thieves pose as Alliance One employees, telling the tobacco farmers to pay K50,000 to sign a contract marketing agreement.

The firm has therefore urged all fraudster cases to be reported to the company or other buying companies and the Tobacco Control Commission.
