The long awaited news of Tobacco Market opening date has finally been announced. The Tobacco Control Commission (TCC)  Chief Executive Officer, Kaisi Sadala  confirmed announced that the season will start on April 25, beginning with Lilongwe Auction Floors, followed by Chinkhoma Auction Floors is expected to be opened on April 29.

Limbe and Mzuzu markets are set to open on May 2 and May 6, respectively, while Kabwafu satellite floor will be opened on May 16.

Meanwhile, President Peter Mutharika is expected to commission the start of the tobacco-selling season.
