In the fifth week of the 2020 Tobacco market season, tobacco sales have reached $50.6 million, as the Auction Holdings Limited (AHL) Group attributes the rise in revenue to quality leaf.
AHL spokesperson Teresa Ndanga outlined that the market has seen a drop in rejection rate, from 92% to 47%, while the floors are still rejecting mouldy and poorly graded leaf.
Last week, a new buyer was announced on the tobacco market, a development that has excited growers. The Tobacco Commission (TC) announced a Serbian tobacco buying company called Tobacco Industry of Bujanovac (TIB).
