From total sales of $7,348,108.13 in the first week of the tobacco market, sales have spiked to $18 million in the second week. In one week, the sales have more than doubled due to a decreased rejection rate and slight increase in buying rates.
Last week’s market report by AHL Group indicated that prices rose from $1.33 per kilogram (kg) from $1.28 per kg. On the other hand, a low rejection rate was noticed, attributed to high quality of tobacco.
The second week has closed with a total of 13,512,267 kg, added with the first week’s lot.
