Total Malawi’s Startupper of the Year Challenge 2018 has been won by Noria Katungwe, beating 14 other contestants and winning the grand prize of K10.5 million.
She also walked home with the Top Female Entrepreneur Award, to which she expressed that she was happy and motivated to work extra hard.
Total Malawi’s Managing Director, Salamata Ball, said she was impressed with the quality of projects in this year’s contest, pledging further interest to work with the winning projects to ensure that they are fully developed.
Coming second place was Everson Jere whose Planks and Briquettes Production Project won him about K7.1 million in pounds. In third place was Dumisani Kaliati, with a project that developed fixed wing autonomous drone aircrafts for transportation and delivery of medical diagnostics.
