The Director of Tourism, Isaaac Katopola has announced that a new marketing strategy is in the making to put in place mechanisms that will increase the number of locals visiting tourism facilities in the country.
The drafted Domestic Tourism Marketing Strategy (DTMS) is expected to promote collaboration with various players in the tourism sector. The initiative serves as a much needed development for locals since such services are not affordable for the targeted demographic, as mainstream resorts are pricing themselves in foreign currency, which has been the major constraint where local tourism is involved.
