During the World Standards Day commemorations, MBS Director General, Symon Mandala, pointed that there are business entities and individuals who are endangering the lives of Malawians by selling expired goods.
Adding to the above, he stressed that some goods are not properly labeled and shelf life erased. “Some of the culprits are shops that we believe in.” he said, using an example of a case in which an expiry date was changed from 2016 to 2022, which is poisonous.
This year’s World Standards Day focused on improving the standards of videos to suit the international standards. The day focuses on raising awareness among regulators and consumers on the importance of standardization to the global economy.
