The United Kingdom has recorded its highest employment rate since 1971. The development, noted by UK’s Office of National Statistics (ONS) show that only 4.8% are unemployed.
However, John Philpott, the director of the Jobs Economist consultancy, said that self-employment accounted for two-thirds (93,000) of the latest rise in employment while job vacancies had remained broadly unchanged in recent months.
On the other hand, increase in pay has been slightly higher, a fact that worries some employed citizens.
