United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) announced a social media platform that will see Malawians freely accessing information on diverse issues affecting their lives. The platform called Internet of Good Things (IoGT) is being hosted by TNM and therefore is exclusive to its subscribers.
Launched in December 2018, the initiative serves as a follow up from a prior project called U-Report which was an opinion-polling system for young people to give their views and opinions on different issues.
UNICEF’s Chief of Communication, Advocacy and Partnerships, Andrew Brown the IoGT said initiative will provide information on a variety of topics including maternal health, HIV and sexual health advice, education, hygiene and emergency information on different diseases.
“Every TNM user with a smartphone would be able to access IoGT for free from their TNM.org application and be able to read information on various fields that affect their lives” he said
