The commercialisation of Agriculture can only be achieved if farmers and the private sector unite their efforts; a view shared by the Agricultural Commercialisation Project (Agcom) the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development.
Agcom met with the private sector to discuss more on the project’s objectives, where it was noted that there is a gap between the private sector and small holders. To bridge the gap and further unite the two, the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, are implementing a $95 million (about K70 billion) Agcom project with a loan from the World Bank. The project will be implemented countrywide for six years from 2018-2023.
