During a visit to Vizara Rubber Plantation, the Minister of Labour Ken Kandodo learnt that the firm plans to boost production to effectively compete on the global market.
The plantation’s general manager Yash Pratap Singh outlined that research shows that there is still huge demand for rubber in South Africa; hence, they will boost volumes to ably compete with rival Malaysian firms. “In future, we also want to do more value addition on our rubber and also make some rubber products.” said Singh.
On the other hand, Kandodo hailed the company for its contribution in Malawi, as it has over 2000 employees while generating foreign exchange because most of their products are exported.
