Kamuzu International Airport has launched its newly constructed terminals, which are courtesy of the Japanese Government. The new development will increase the airport’s service 10 times more, as the airport will service 500 travelers per hour, compared to the prior capacity of 50 travelers per hour.
Acting Director of the Department of Civil Aviation in the Transport Ministry, James Chikwawa said the new terminal building is going to help accommodate many people at once as they will be divided according to their destinations.
Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Public Works Francis Chinsinga, received the three new terminal buildings given by the people of Japan at Kamuzu International Airport. Director of Marubeni Protect Corporation, Yasuhiro Tanaka expressed happiness that they have completed the project in good time, as the project begun in 2017. Tanaka also revealed of renovations of the old terminal building which will take less than a year.
